    Our sobriety date is one of the most important facts we share about ourselves in recovery. Some of us may choose to embrace the “anonymous” aspect of step programs a bit more zealously than others, but we will still generally share this one vital piece of info about ourselves when it is requested. There is an important distinction between being "sober" and being in "recovery". The differences are clear to those who have experienced both phases in their healing process from alcoholism.
